Lowering the Metabolic ‘Set-Point’
Current evidence shows that your body has a metabolic weight ‘set-point’, which is influenced by many of the factors listed earlier. For those who are overweight or obese, this set-point is higher, which can lead to difficulties in losing weight using dieting alone, or the swift regaining of weight following a diet regime. In order to successfully lose weight and keep it off, it is necessary to lower your body’s metabolic set-point.
My program has been specifically designed to assist your body to lose weight and keep it off by making it simpler to adhere to a lower caloric intake, and also through addressing the lifestyle and behavioural factors that are typically neglected in weight loss diets. Further, once you have lowered your set-point, and reached your goal weight, my program provides ongoing direction and guidance on how to maintain your new weight. By adhering to the program, you are following a scientifically proven process to lose fat mass, lower weight, and to maintain it long-term.

Attending regular consultations with a healthcare Practitioner has been shown to be associated with greater weight losses. Regular contact with me offers support and accountability, allows me to track your progress, and also tailor your journey to address any additional factors (e.g. health conditions, lifestyle elements, behaviours) that may be impacting your body’s capacity to lose weight.
I initially book you in for weekly appointments, and as you move through the 3 phases of my program these may move to fortnightly or monthly appointments. This appointment system is a key part to a successful weight management program, and will support you in reaching your health goals.
My weight management program has a three phase approach to successful and long term weight loss. After the initial ‘Intense Phase’ of 6 consecutive weeks, 2 week diet breaks are cycled with active dieting until your goal weight is achieved.
Once you achieve your goal weight I then provide you with education to maintain your new healthy weight.

6 x 15 min weekly weight check-in, nutrition and lifestyle coaching sessions
7 x body composition Analyses- Using a special bio impedance machine to measure your muscle, fat, bone and hydration (in consultation). This helps us track how much body fat you are losing and help us retain your muscle.
